Okay so yesterday my stomach felt like a balloon ready to pop after lunch. Serious bloat and gas pains – not fun at all. Had some beans and broccoli earlier, probably the culprits. Decided to try every home trick I could find to fix it fast.

First Up: The Warm Water Trick
Poured myself a mug of plain warm water, not too hot. Chugged it standing in my kitchen. Felt weird just guzzling plain water but honestly within 5 minutes I already felt little bubbles moving. Grabbed another cup right after.
Started Walking It Off
Put on sneakers and power-walked around my living room while watching TV. Made big arm swings – looked stupid but who cares. Did laps for like 20 minutes until I felt that first real burp come up. Relief started kicking in.
Hit The Yoga Mat
Pulled out my old mat and tried those knee-to-chest poses. Lay flat, hugged one knee hard for 20 seconds then switched. Then did the “wind relief pose” – legs bent, rocked side to side while hugging both knees. Lots of gurgling sounds happened, kinda embarrassing.
Broke Out Grandma’s Ginger
Found dried ginger powder in my spice rack. Mixed half a teaspoon in hot water with some honey. That stuff burned going down! Drank it slowly over 15 minutes. Felt heat spreading in my gut immediately.
Got Horizontal With Heat
Heated my rice sock in the microwave (careful not to burn it!). Laid down on my bed with that heat pack pressed on my belly for like 10 minutes straight. Noticed my pants feeling looser right after.

Mint Tea Rescue
Found peppermint tea bags buried in my cabinet. Steeped one bag extra long – that smell cleared my sinuses too. Sipping this felt colder than the ginger but my stomach started relaxing big time.
Secret Pharmacy Weapon
Finally dug through my medicine drawer for those gas relief chewables I bought last year. Chewed two chalky tablets that tasted like fake oranges. Waited 15 minutes – then came the real magic. Suddenly felt light enough to float away.
So what actually worked? Honestly the peppermint tea plus those chewables were the knockout punch. But the combo of everything – especially moving around and heat – got things unstuck way faster. Bloat went from “baby due any minute” to nearly flat in under 90 minutes. Next time I’m skipping the broccoli-bean combo lunch though!
