Ugh, woke up this morning feeling like a balloon after last night’s crazy pasta feast. My belly was so tight and uncomfortable – you know that awful “food baby” feeling? Figured I’d try some natural stuff before reaching for pills. Grabbed my notebook and started testing five old-school tricks people swear by.

The Belly Rescue Mission Begins
First up: chugged a mug of warm lemon water. Squeezed half a lemon into hot water, gulped it down fast. Tasted kinda sour but refreshing. Waited 20 mins just sitting there… nothing happened except needing to pee. Mild letdown.
Getting Moving
Decided to try gentle exercise next. Put on sweatpants and did weird tummy stretches on my yoga mat – mostly knee-to-chest hugs and child’s pose. Felt silly but after 10 mins of wriggling around, heard some gurgles! Progress.
Hot Water Bottle Therapy
Dug out my dusty hot water bottle. Filled it, placed it right where my guts felt knotted up. Instant warmth hit – not magic, but damn relaxing. Kept it there 15 mins while browsing memes. Pressure eased a little, like my insides untwisted slightly.
Peppermint Tea Test Drive
Brewed strong peppermint tea next. That herbal steam smelled amazing. Sipped slowly this time – no chugging. Halfway through the cup, legit felt bubbles popping inside me. Uncomfortable bloat started deflating like a leaky air mattress. Winner!
The Ginger Surprise
Last experiment: ginger. Had an ugly knobby root in my fridge. Chopped a tiny slice, poured boiling water over it, let it steep forever. Tasted spicy AF but drank it all. Within 15 minutes:

- Burped like a trucker (embarrassing but effective)
- Stomach went from rock-hard to soft
- Finally felt human again
Took about 90 minutes total from bloated misery to relief. Surprised ginger+peppermint worked best – warm compress runner-up. Definitely skipping the pasta portions next time! Full disclaimer: Works for me when overeating, not medical advice obviously.
